About the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
The Peach Bowl entered a new era when it signed Chick- fil -A as its first-ever title sponsor in 1996. Now entering their eighth bowl game of the partnership, the Chick- fil -A Peach Bowl has disbursed more than $2 million in charitable and scholarship contributions - the most among all bowl games - while team payout has also increased steadily each year. "This is a win-win partnership for everyone involved - the city of Atlanta , the conferences and their member schools, and Chick- fil -A," said Steve Robinson, Chick- fil -A's senior vice president of marketing. "If anyone can present a national top-tier bowl, we feel the Chick- fil -A Peach Bowl can." The Bowl continues to be a rising star on the horizon of college football. What was once an afternoon event now includes festivities such as the Chick- fil -A Peach Bowl Parade and FanFest presented by Coca-Cola, allowing thousands more visitors to enjoy the Bowl Week experience.
Entering the 2005 contest, the Chick- fil -A Peach Bowl has enjoyed eight straight sellouts, and 12 out of the last 14 years, making it the highest attended bowl game outside the Bowl Championship Series. The television ratings were the highest among the 20 bowl games televised on ESPN, and was the third-highest rated bowl ever on the network.
"We've passed a lot of other bowls that have bit the dust," said Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce President Sam Williams. "We're not bragging when we say the Chick- fil -A Peach Bowl is one of the most coveted bowls in the nation."
